1. Governor’s

If you’re looking for a simple, diner-style breakfast, then Governor’s is the place to go. They make a rocking plate of eggs, potatoes, and meat. Treat your sweet tooth to a grilled blueberry muffin or piece of banana bread – you definitely won’t regret it!

Not only are the portions very generous, but the prices are extremely reasonable. Additionally, the service is always friendly and reliable, a big reason why I keep going back! Governor’s is one of the best breakfast spots in Bangor, Maine.

Don’t forget to grab a dessert to bring home with you, they have a huge selection of housemade treats. Their pies are delectable, but they also have cake, cookies, brownies, bars, scones, and more.

2. Bagel Central

Bagels are one of my absolute favorite breakfast foods, I could eat them every day. Bagel Central not only makes some delightful bagels, but they also put together awesome sandwiches on the bagels. My favorite is the Lox & Onion sandwich, but everything I’ve had has been delicious.

This is definitely a more casual place to grab breakfast. You order at the counter and pick up at the window, there’s no table service. However, there’s a large dining area to snag a table for your family, or take a dozen bagels to go!

3. Dysart’s Restaurant

Dysart’s is a local empire that owns many gas stations, truck stops, heating oil delivery services, and truck fleets. They also happen to have a hometown diner in Bangor!

There was a viral youtube video going around a few years ago of an older couple messing up on a commercial trying to say “buttery flaky crust.” That was a commercial for this restaurant!

Dysart’s Restaurant serves breakfast all day and offers some delicious classics, such as several different flavored 3-egg omelets, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, and Belgian waffles.

In addition, they have some sweet brunch cocktails on the menu as well – mimosas, Irish coffee, and Bloody Mary flights! Mmm, Bloody Marys are my absolute favorite, so the fact that you can get a flight is really fun.

4. Wicked Brew

Wicked Brew is a lesser-known spot in downtown Bangor specializing in organic and fair-trade espresso, coffee, tea, and other cafe beverages. In addition to their delicious coffee, you’ll find some scrumptious breakfast items.

Their menu features breakfast sandwiches, a breakfast wrap, various baked goods, smoothies, and even some vegan sandwich options.

This is one of the cutest spots in town! Their decor is chic yet homey and really gives off a quirky big-city cafe vibe. This is a great spot to meet up with a friend on a weekday or post up with your laptop to get some work done. Check out their weekly specials, and don’t forget to grab a strong coffee on your way out!

5. Mason’s Brewing

Mason’s is a well-known brewery across the river in Brewer that serves brunch on the weekend. This is the perfect spot to fuel up after a late night out.

This is definitely a trendier restaurant that serves up some super creative breakfast dishes. Some recent concoctions include Banana Bread French Toast, Eggs Benedict Sandwich, homemade cinnamon buns and muffins, and breakfast pizza. Order a yummy mimosa flight or a freshly brewed house-made beer with your breakfast.

Mason’s does open up later than other breakfast restaurants, and truly is the perfect place for a later brunch with family or friends.

Chase’s offers a tasty and super simple breakfast menu. This is a great family restaurant where you can get classic egg dishes, pancakes, french toast, and omelets.

Grab a friend and meet up for an affordable and yummy breakfast every day from 7-11 am. Chase’s has an unassuming exterior, but don’t let that fool you into thinking the food is anything but delicious.
